What are your current responsibilities and background?
I started my career selling commercial carpet to Healthcare and Education End-Users in Texas. From there I went to a furniture manufacturer focusing on corporate end users and then transferred to Washington DC. Last year I was given the opportunity to move back to Raleigh and work with CBI. My wife and I jumped at the chance to move back to Raleigh and for me to work with such a wonderful group of people. My current responsibilities include business development and account management–it is important for me to build my name and the CBI brand within the market.

Who has been the biggest influence on your career so far?
My father has been the biggest influence on me throughout my career. His experience in sales, sales management, and leading companies has really helped me through the obstacles and the opportunities that have been presented to me.

What is the most important lesson you have learned during your career thus far?
It is all about relationships.

What do you view as the benefits of your NAIOP DL membership?
Wisdom is the one thing most young people lack; the two ways to get it are through experiences and talking with folks that have it. The amount of wisdom and success within NAIOP is astonishing. The members have all been in our positions and so far, have been willing to discuss the market ups and downs along with the successes that they have had in their careers.
